About Us

Igbo Digital is currently a one-man passion project. It has been a way to connect with my Igbo heritage and move it into the modern era. The goal is to put national knowledge at our fingertips. It is also to take more control over the meaning of being Igbo, including the good/bad/ugly.

The inital goal is to develop a platform for communicating significant events in Igbo history through a 'this week in Igbo' platform. Next is to develop a map of Igboland that graphically shows major locations and landmarks. Eventually, I would like to have regular interviews with Igbo leaders.

Hopefully, you'll join in the adventure and help grow this to become much larger than a one-man project.

End of 2025

We finally made it to 101 historical facts. It has been quite the learning adventure and I truly have appreciated the experience. The next goal is to focus on getting to a total of 100 regions. So I'll be looking for things such as tribes, historical kingdoms, etc.

September Update

Completed an overhaul. Now there are sections for proverbs, important igbo words. At this point, proud to celebrate the following (with a dashboard included): 70 facts, 6 words, 12 proverbs, 14 regions, 18 nations. Hopefully, the information keeps growing!

July Update

We are up to about 57 facts now. Currently working on a way to show information that only has just a month/year or just a year.

General Update

We are up to about 45 facts now. The newsletter has been up and running. There is a page for resources since the Igbo history ecosystem is pretty extensive and its definitely worth showing off.
